I have some books that I have accumulated over 2 1/2 years while being a student at Kapi‘olani Community College that I would like to sell. I am planning on taking a COMG class at UHM also.

I hope those of who are taking classes at a community college or university the best of luck and to finish strong this next week.

I hope everyone is getting some sleep because studies have shown that if you sleep before the exam then students do better than those who cram all night...but I guess that is to their discretion.

I have to get back to studying now..and writing papers!

Happy studying and sleeping!

How was your week?

I hope everyone had a great week. I hope we all started on the paper because it is due in less than two weeks! Yikes! I hope all your classes and lives are going well.

It is sad to hear that Paul Walker from the Fast and Furious movies has died in a violent car crash in which speed was a factor. It is ironic because he starred in a movie with fast cars and fast chases and he died in a fast car that was speeding.

It is also sad to hear that Nelson Mandela has passed. I am sorry to say that I keep getting Nelson Mandela and Morgan Freeman switched around because to me, they look alike.

On one of my favorite shows, "Little Couple", the mother of Will and Zoey, Jen has a rare type of cancer and by the sound of it, she is making excellent progress in eliminating the cancer.

I have noticed that driver in general are only focused on themselves by driving fast and not paying much attention because they are multitasking or dozing off because of long hours at work and/or schooling and/or family to take care of.

Hawaii is supposed to be full of Aloha and the easy going spirit but anyone who lives and works in Hawaii can attest to the long hours with very little wages some jobs even less than minimal wages that no one can live on because of bills (electric, food, water, transportation, medical, schooling, etc) to pay. Even at that, some people are living on the streets and in their cars.  Housing itself is not cheap and so is food which is why people are living on the streets. Some people have 2-3 jobs and is very tired.

I am going into the Education department and teachers are not getting paid very much despite what they do and how many hours they put into their lesson planning and grading. On top of that, they have to teach to the tests, which lessens creativity in students and teacher and teachers have to deal with troubled students and parents. I heard that teachers only have $150 to decorate their classroom and by the end of the school year they have used some of their own money to provide better services (supplies, tools, etc)  to their students especially with elementary, middle and high school students as well as those with disabilities.

Anyone going to UH manoa next semester?

Anyone know of any ways to earn extra money??
